What’s the quickest way to start a campfire ?
Step 1. Prepare tinder
The perfect tinder is fat wood, dry leaves, cotton or scraped chips from a piece of FERROFIRE ferro rod can also work well.
Step 2. Remove coating
The black coating is to protect a ferro rod from oxidation in air. It needs to be partially scraped off before ignition.
Step 3. Prepare to Strike
Grab SA striker with your dominant hand, with its sharp edge against the ferro rod (striker tilting about 45 degrees relative to the ferro rod) .
Step 4. Brace
Brace your hand on the ground closer to tinder. You will be keeping the ferro rod striker stationery during striking.
Step 5. Pull
Grip the ferro rod with your secondary hand, bring it under the ferro rod striker, pull the ferro rod toward you, making sure that it rubs against the sharp edge of the striker.
